Can the kettle and whirlpool be combined?

Kettles for small microbreweries and brew pubs are usually built with ease of manufacture or space -saving demands with the customer in mind and often serve as multipurpose vessels(e.g.combination kettle/whirlpool/hot water tank.) if the kettle is also to be used as a whirlpool tank, the inside should be free of obstructions that could interfere with the whirlpool action and the kettle normally has a flat or sloping bottom.(select from raw materials and brewhouse operation)
