What is two stage heat exchanger?

Two stage heat exchanger is combined by two passways, one is cold water stage, the other is glycol or alcohol cooling stage.Cold water(also call brewing water) is required to below 20 Celsius, the wort will be cooled down to 40-50 Celsius after first stage cooling. The second stage cooling medium is required to minus 3 Celsius- minus 4 Celsius, the wort will be cooled to fermentation temperature after second stage cooling.
Normally we can use the first stage cooling water as brewing water if they are clean in Microbrewery.
Heat exchanger have 0.25-0.35Mpa resistance, the wort and cooling medium need to be pumped to Heat exchanger. The cooling time need to be controlled in 1 hours. 30-40min is the best time.

How to clean the Heat exchanger in microbrewery equipment:
Feed clean water to make leftover fully blown off, and heat 1~1.5% NaOH liquid to 85℃ and keep circulation for 15 min. Keep feeding clean water to make alkali liquid fully blown off until it looks clean.
