How to get Glycol water tank size in a brewery?
To run a brewery well and get aroma beer, cooling is one keypoint.
The cooling unit include glycol water tank, chiller, Glycol transfers....
Generally, if The glycol water tank be set at -5℃, It need 30% glycol and 70% water to fill glycol water tank. The glycol is expensive.
To fill one 60bbl glycol water tank, it usually need around 20bbl glycol, and it will cost USD20,000 for such glycol capacity. Some customers have doubts why it need so big glycol water tank, could we use a small glycol water tank? How you math the glycol water tank size?
We calculate the glycol water tank based on conservation of energy. Simply, we calcualte the glycol water tank size by below formula.
(Toriginal temperature of wort whirlpooled -T temperature of wort be cooled)x M Wort capacity =(TTemperature of city water after cool wort -Tnormal Temperature of city water)x Mcity wter +(TTemperature of glycol water after cool wort -T temperature of Glycol water )xM glycol water
The heat exchanger is two stage, and if you use more city water like two times of wort, and we will use relative little glycol water , The glycol water tank could be a little smaller in your brewery project.
Welcome you to inquiry on brewery system.
