The Advantages Of Heat Exchanger

The most commonly used wort cooling equipment is plate heat exchanger in brewery currently, it is a closed cooling device that be made of stainless steel, consisting of a number of sheets with grooves on both sides, two blocks, a basic unit.
When the wort cools, the hot wort and the cooling medium are counter-currently pumped in turbulent flow along the grooves on both sides of the grooved plate for heat exchange.
Each cooling plate unit can be used in parallel or in series or in combination.

1.High heat transfer efficiency
Due to the plate-like structure of the plate heat exchanger, turbulence can be formed, which can provide high heat exchange efficiency, the heat transfer coefficient can reach 1500-5000W(㎡·K), and the column-pipe heat exchanger is only 350-2300W(㎡·K).

2.Compact structure and small footprint
Under the same heat load, the required heat exchange area of the plate heat exchanger is only about 1/3 of the tube heat exchanger.

3.High flexibility
Plate heat exchanger can increase or decrease the number of plates according to the amount of production, adjust the heat transfer area, very convenient.

4.Good sealing performance
The gasket is placed in the groove of the gasket, the gasket is fixed by the pressed notch, has the ability of resisting high pressure, and does not use adhesive, which is convenient for hygiene.

5.Good safety
The special plate gasket structure can prevent the mixing between the hot and cold mediums. The two fluids at the inlet and outlet end surfaces are separated by double seal gaskets, which improves the heat exchange safety.
