The heating insulation and cooling insulation
In a complete brewery system, the insulation is important from energy saving side.
On brewhouse unit, it need heating insulation. For a two vessel brewhouse(MLT+KWT), they both need insulation; for a three vessel brewhouse(MT+LT+KWT), There are insulation on MT and KWT. For brewhouse insulation, we usually adopt rock wool as insulation, and make sure the thickness 80mm. There is also another higher level insulation material aluminium silicate, which is higher level than rock wool and its cost is higher than rock wool.
While on fermentation tank and BBT,they also need insulation, here it is for cool insulation, we usually adopt polyurethane material as cooling insulation, the thickness is 80mm. While in some large brewery, the fermentation tanks will be placed outside, in this condition, the Fermentation tanks will cover insulation material 100mm.
There is one knowledge to share with you, aluminium silicate is suitable for cooling insulation or not? The answer is no. The aluminium silicate will be easy to blocking and drop down when it touch with condensate water, so it is no suitable for cooling insulation for FV/BBT.
Do you have a clear knowledge for your brewery insulation now?
Thank you for your reading.
