One stage heat exchanger(HEX) use only cold water to cool wort, what is why it is called one stage. One stage heat exchanger is much more simple.
The cold water will be cooled to 3-4 Celsius by chiller in advance before using, which is required to add a cold water tank in the brewhouse unit.
The cold water will rise to 75-80 Celsius after coming out from Heat exchanger.
We have to pay attention for below points during operating the heat exchanger:
1. The wort inlet temperature is 95 Celsius before going HEX.
2. Cooling time is required to control in one hour.
3. The pressure of wort and pump is 0.1-0.15Mpa.
4. Wort: cold water is 1:(1.2-1.4)
5. Cleaning and sterilization water temperature is 85-90 Celsius, the lye liquid is 75-80 Celsius.
6. 20-30mins sterilization time is suggested.
7.Cold water Temp is 3-4 Celsius
