What’s a grist case?

Firstly grist cases are the storage vessels for milled grain malts. It’s a key components in beer brewing.
They are positioned between the grain mill and the brewhouse, the grist case is the intermediary stop for grain after cracking, prior to introduction into the brew mash tun.

Grist cases are assembled on the top of mash tun, or mash/lauter tun normally at brewery. But some breweries, brewpubs, there is a limited space to assemble the beer brewing system, we also can put the grist case on the ground, so there is two flexible auger to connect the grist miller machine with grist case and then from grist case to mash tun.
