Tiantai Brewtech ‘s Advise To Avoid A Stuck Run-off In Lauter Process

There are some advise to avoid a stuck run-off in lauter process. And I’m going to list some of the most common reasons following-next.

1)You can add some hot water(around 45°C)into your lauter tun before adding your grain.But never too much, Just cover the false bottom is OK.

2)If your grain is milled too fine, The grain bed will have less gap from each other then easy to cause a stuck.

3)When you add too much grain or too little water in the mashing process,the viscosity will be too high, that may slow down the speed of the wort flow. For now you can raise the temperature. Since higher temperature can decrease the viscosity. Here maybe you need a lauter tun with good insulation. 

4)You can use CO2 or hot water through the wort outlet into the false bottom when it stuck. For that we often use the back pressure flushing device under false bottom.
