How to cool the Cold Liquor Tank by a Heat Exchanger?
Well in some Commercial breweries, it is common to use the heat exchanger to cool the Cold liquor tank by a heat exchanger instead of the Glycol water tank.
Well how to make its control?
Usually it needs to have two controls: one is the temperature control and the other is the level control.
For the temperature control: When we set a temperature of 2 degree, the actual temperature is higher than this, then the cold water pump and glycol water pump will open automatically.
For the level control, when it arrives the lower level, the fresh water will be filled automatically and at the same time the glycol water pump will open automatically to cool the water into the tank.
For the fermentation tank it is still ok to use the glycol jacket and for the cold liquor tank which is used to cool the wort will need to be more efficient.
Do you have more ideas about this cooling? It is interesting to talk together about the beer brewing equipment.
