The pressure and safe of the fermentation tank

Conical fermenter to withstand a certain pressure.
Different temperatures and pressures, the requirements for the wall thickness of fermenters are not the same.
 
Generally, the head and the bottom of the cone are under high pressure; The lower part of the cylinder is under more pressure than the upper part of the cylinder.
When the pressure is high, the compressive strength should be high. Therefore, the thickness of the tank wall will increase accordingly.
 
There are four conditions effect the safety of the fermenter.
1.Using hot water to clean fermentation tanks for steam sterilization;
 
2.Fermenter discharge rate is too fast and insufficient air intake;
 
3.The fermenter is washed with alkaline water. The carbon dioxide in the tank is absorbed by the alkali and the volume shrinks.
 
4.After washing with hot alkaline water, rinse with cold water.
 
These conditions are prone to vacuum pumping.
So, it is recommended that the temperature when cleaning the fermenter should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
